- #20352:07:15overturned Fresh against Isla agonisma: homologia (+1)
The council overturned the call, so no points were earned.
“No, I just asked you, can I make you do something with your body? You just said no. So who choices it at the end of day?”
Diogenes: Fresh gets Isla to answer "No" to "Can I make you have an abortion?" That grants Myron's premise that only the woman decides after conception. He then presses the consequence ("who chooses at the end of the day?"), and she can only fall back on "both of you", which her own answer has just ruled out for that stage.- Aristotle overturn: On the record: Isla's declared method throughout the debate is to resist the hosts' either/or framings with distinctions rather than bare concession; here she does exactly that, distinguishing "can you force my body" from "who is responsible," and maintains her shared-responsibility position rather than granting Fresh's forced dichotomy. The transcript shows Isla saying "No" only to the narrow question of physical coercion ("can I make you have an abortion"), but she immediately flags that the broader question is being loaded ("it's not a yes or no") and twice answers the actual question posed ("who chooses at the end of the day") with "both," both before and after Fresh's "you just said no" pressure. She never adopts Myron/Fresh's premise that the woman alone decides; she holds her original position ("both are responsible") to the end of this exchange.
- Socrates overturn: Read blind, found "loaded question". Fresh's question folds two separate questions into one: whether the man can physically override the woman's post-conception bodily decision (obviously no), and who bears responsibility for the pregnancy occurring at all (a joint act, as Isla and Penelope had just been arguing). By getting "no" to the first and immediately pivoting to "so who chooses it at the end of the day?", he smuggles the sole-responsibility conclusion into the question's wording rather than arguing for it; Isla's refusal to take the bait ("Both of you") is the sound response to a trap question, not a dodge.
- Plato overturn: On the record: Isla's position throughout the pregnancy-responsibility exchange, confirmed by this bench's own prior rulings at 121:14, 124:37, and 126:08, is that responsibility is shared rather than solely the woman's; the transcript at 126:49-127:27 shows her holding that same line ("Both of them"/"Both of you") straight through this exchange rather than being driven off it. Isla answers "No" only to the narrow physical-force question, explicitly flags that this isn't the real question ("it's not a yes or no"), and gives the same substantive answer both before and after Fresh's "you just said no" pressure ("both of them," "both of you"). She is not driven to concede Myron's premise; she maintains her original distinction and position, so no forced concession, or any other decisive move, occurred.
