- #22321:01:22upheld S5 claim: false claim (+1)
The council upheld the finding, but nothing on this stream goes on anyone’s record.
The claim, as Thucydides noted it: Candace Owens first denied having anything to do with an old YouTube channel and later admitted she was the person in the video; the old YouTube and Flickr accounts are linked by the same email addresses and sign-in information.
Diogenes: Thucydides (verifier): unsupported; the source does not bear what is drawn from it. Reporting says Owens called her 2008 class-assignment YouTube account "hacked" and said she is locked out of Flickr. It doesn't show she first denied the channel and then admitted she was in the video. The same-email linkage is an online allegation (username Cdot429) that the Advocate doesn't confirm. The "lies all the time" conclusion is an opinion, and this evidence doesn't establish it.- Aristotle uphold: On the record: Jay Dyer opened as host of an open forum, moved to sponsor reads and conspiratorial news commentary with a skeptical stance toward establishment media, and has held it since; the called line is a flat factual claim about Candace Owens that fits that stance but is not backed by anything in the debate. The claim is stated flatly as fact with no source. The verifier found that reporting shows Owens calling the account "hacked", not denying and then admitting it, and that the email linkage is only an online allegation. It was not corrected on the floor, so the finding holds.
- Socrates overturn: Read blind, found nothing worth calling. This is part of the host's monologue about Candace Owens, who is not on the floor, and no opponent is answering it. The floor rule means it isn't judged. The line is also a factual claim about someone absent, not a move against a live question.
- Plato uphold: On the record: Jay Dyer opened as host of an open forum, declared no thesis beyond Orthodox presuppositionalism, and has held a running pattern of conspiracy commentary and polemic against rivals; the Candace Owens line fits that commentary rather than departing from it. The verifier found the claim unsupported: reporting says Owens called the account hacked, not that she denied it and then admitted being in the video. The speaker offered nothing checkable for the sequence, and nobody on the floor objected, so the finding holds.
The bench voted on this, and its verdict is kept as it was given. It does not vote on the calls of a call-in show now, and nothing there counts on anybody’s record.
