- #22803:21:32overturned S9 claim: false claim (+1)
The council overturned the finding, so nothing is marked against Speaker 9.
The claim, as Thucydides noted it: The Kardashian family makes a ton of donations to the California Community Church and writes them off on their taxes, with the money going on to their mother, Kris Jenner.
Diogenes: Thucydides (verifier): unsupported. The claim is speculation from a gossip video (S9, 201:22), with no source named. Coverage says the tax write-off is "alleged but not definitively proven": the church does not publish its tax filings. The church's own site says Kris Jenner paid the rent and the pastor's salary and has not served on its board. No source shows the Kardashians' donations flowing back to Kris Jenner. The $1,000-a-month and 10% figures are likewise rumor.- Aristotle overturn: On the record: S9 is a voice in a YouTube video that Jay Dyer played; he declared no thesis on the floor and held none, so the called line departs from nothing. The line is spoken inside a played recording about the Kardashians' church (199:11 to 201:44). It is not S9's own argument on the floor, and nobody is there to answer it. That matches my earlier rulings on clip voices (88:30, 197:12, 197:17). The verifier's finding may be right about the facts, but the rubric says a played recording is not judged.
- Socrates overturn: Read blind, found nothing worth calling. S9 is a played video clip inside Jay's monologue on celebrity churches and tax schemes. It isn't the speaker's own argument. No opponent is on the floor to answer it, so under the floor rule it isn't judged.
- Plato overturn: On the record: S9 is a voice in a YouTube video that Jay Dyer played. S9 declared no thesis and held no position on the floor, so the called line is a played recording and not a departure from any held line. The line comes from a played clip, not from a speaker on the floor, so under the rubric it is not judged. This matches my earlier rulings on clip voices at 88:30, 197:12 and 197:17. The verifier's finding that the claim is unsupported may be right, but it belongs to the clip's author. Jay's own remark at 199:03 is a separate line and is not the one called here.
The bench voted on this, and its verdict is kept as it was given. It does not vote on the calls of a call-in show now, and nothing there counts on anybody’s record.
