Appeal: false claim
From Aliens Vs Pastors Vs Serial Killers (Dahmer Pt 2) - The REAL SKITTLES SECRET! 2026-10-10 20:55.
- #24751:14not voted on: a call-in show Jay Dyer claim: false claim (+1)
Not voted on: a call-in show, so nothing counts.
The claim, as Thucydides noted it: During the Cold War the KGB used blackmail to compromise the Cambridge Five, all of whom were homosexual men.
Diogenes: Thucydides (verifier): unsupported; the source does not bear what is drawn from it. Dyer said at 74:52 that the KGB compromised "especially the Cambridge five, all the skittles dudes." Histories say the five (Philby, Burgess, Maclean, Blunt, Cairncross) were recruited in the 1930s, mostly before the Cold War, and the motive was ideology, not blackmail. Only Burgess and Blunt were gay. Maclean had male affairs but was married, and Philby and Cairncross were not gay. No source is named, and "all homosexual" and "blackmail" as the means are both false.Thucydides (verifier) checked this claim. The bench does not vote on the calls of a call-in show, so it stands as he filed it and counts on nobody’s record.
