Appeal: false claim
From Ryad TRIGGERS Miami Girls After Saying THIS... 2026-10-19 22:20.
- #261154:23upheld a speaker not yet confirmed claim: false claim (+1)
The council upheld the finding: a speaker not yet confirmed gave away 1 point on Alētheia, the tally of checked facts.
The claim, as Thucydides noted it: Women reject the majority of men, and a majority of men struggle to get sex; this is a statistical fact.
Diogenes: Thucydides (verifier): unsupported; the source does not bear what is drawn from it. No source was named. At 54:18 the "proof" is a show of hands from a few women that they decline most men who approach them. That says nothing about how many men struggle to get sex. PsyPost, reporting General Social Survey data, says the share of heterosexual men aged 18–24 with no sex in the past year rose "from 18.9% in 2000 to 30.9% in 2018". That is a sizable minority, not a majority. Women being selective does not show that most men fail to get sex, so "a statistical fact" is not borne out.- Aristotle uphold: On the record: S20 declared nothing at the opening; he joined late, pressed the girls on equality and headship, and has held that women are illogical and that most men struggle to get women. The called line restates that claim and adds "a statistical fact", which departs from the show of hands he had in hand. The quoted words, "this is a statistical fact", claim more than the evidence in the room supports. A few women saying they reject most men approaching them does not show that most men struggle to get sex. The verifier's General Social Survey figure of about 31% of young men with no sex in a year is a minority, not a majority. The claim is unsupported and stated as fact, so I uphold it as minor.
- Socrates uphold: Read blind, found "hasty generalisation", on the same ledger as the callout. S20 draws a claim about all women and all men from a handful of women at one table, who said only that they decline most men who approach them. He names no figures or source for "statistically speaking". Declining most approaches also does not show that most men fail, since a few men may succeed repeatedly. Earlier I let the narrower question to one woman pass. Here he generalises to the whole population from the table, and nothing else supports it.
- Plato uphold: On the record: S20 declared no thesis at the opening (S1 spoke there); he joined later and has held that women are illogical, cannot substantiate claims, and should obey; the called line claims, as "statistical fact," that most men struggle to get sex, and so does not depart from that stance. The called line calls it "a statistical fact" that a majority of men struggle to get sex. The only support offered was a show of hands from a few women. The verifier's General Social Survey figure of 30.9% of young men with no sex in a year is a minority, not a majority. So the claim is unsupported as stated, and this is a minor factual fault.
